Colin Cowie

At the recent ABC conference I was one of only 8 people chosen to have lunch with Colin Cowie. The lunch was fantastic, the decor was beautiful…but by far the most exciting was to sit next to Colin and be able to discuss his philosophy for events and life! Colin has done some of the most fabulous events all over the world. He’s done parties and events for Oprah, Jennifer Lopez and a plethora of Middle Eastern royalty.
Colin Cowie Lifestyle – the world’s premier event planning, interior design and lifestyle company, with offices in Los Angeles and New York – is the undisputed leader in its field. Colin’s corporate clients include Audemars Piguet, Davidoff of Geneva, Warner Bros, CBS, The Whitney Museum, Architectural Digest, Kerzner International’s One and Only Hotels, Cosmopolitan Magazine and InStyle Magazine. Colin’s celebrity client list includes Oprah Winfrey, Jerry Seinfeld, Jennifer Lopez, Mark Anthony, Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Aniston, Bruce Willis, Demi Moore, Jenny McCarthy, Sela Ward, Don Henley, Kelsey Grammer, Kenny G., Lisa Kudrow, Charlie Sheen, Sugar Ray Leonard, Paula Abdul, Barry Bonds, Michael Jordan and Hugh Hefner.
ABC Conference Newport Beach

Kim, Valeeshia & I recently attended the ABC (Assoc. of Bridal Consultants) Annual Conference in Newport Beach, CA. It brought together wedding planners from all over the globe – so not only can we stay abreast of the latest and greatest trends in the US – but also find out what the top planners around the world are up to.
There were lots of great workshops, seminars and events. The first evening there was a photo booth on site – which is always a fun addition to any wedding…you’ll get some great & crazy candids of your guests. This particular booth gives a copy to your guests but also keeps on on file so you as host will get a copy of all the photos. So fun!
There was also a “white event” where everyone was required to dress all in white. I personally have done a monochromatic event like this in California – but haven’t done one in Canada…whether you choose white, or black, or even pink…it certainly makes for great group shots.
We were named one of the top Event Planners!

the wedding planner featured in WedLuxe Magazine

We were excited to see that one of our weddings was featured in the western Canada edition of WedLuxe Magazine. It was a beautiful wedding in Banff…with an equally beautiful bride & groom. There were SO many details to look after with this wedding – every detail from the invitations to the bride & groom’s exit was carefully orchestrated. Their monogram appeared on EVERYTHING…invitations, aisle runner, silk panels in the church, programs, menus, table numbers, signage, gobo projected onto the dance floor, favor cards, tags on the late night snack, and even the matchbooks to light the sparklers for their exit.
Think Pink!

I just got back from Paris where EVERYTHING for Christmas was hot pink! I had never been in Paris at Christmas time before so it was wonderful just to wander around and see all the gorgeous architecture adorned for the season.
Last year we got a hot pink Christmas tree for the office – which Kim & I just put up the other day – it’s nice to know that we were ahead of the trend!
